LILLIAN & JOAN RETURNS — WITH LOVE & JOY!

Hello friends,

Lillian & Joan is back, and this return feels like exactly the right time.

Since September 2023, life asked me to pause, to prioritize health, family, and the kind of quiet work that doesn't always show up on a feed. I didn't expect it would take this long, but I honored it, and now I'm here with something I've wanted to share with you all for a very long time.

I've been creating beloved classics alongside new collections that reflect growth, heritage, and modern expression, but what I'm most excited to share right now is a new collection close to my heart.

Prags (pronounced like "tags") is our curated vintage and secondhand collection, named after the cherished goods often sent home in barrels, a practice deeply rooted in Caribbean life and Guyanese culture. Each piece has been chosen with care, carrying a story that continues with you.

Vintage-shopping and thrifting have been part of my life, long before Lillian & Joan existed. As teenagers in Guyana, my sisters and I would head to Sonia's house, a local entrepreneur who'd bring in gently used and new pieces to sell. She'd often be pulling them straight out of the barrel when we arrived, and you had to get there early for first pick. We didn't have a name for it back then, thrifting wasn't the term yet, but it was a thrill, and every piece felt like it belonged only to you. I still have a couple of photos of myself and my sister from the early 2000s, wearing mini skirts from her stash, proof of just how much we loved what we bought.

Long before that, it was my grandmother's and mom's vintage accessories, their jewelry, scarves, and bags, that first taught me how one piece can change everything about how you carry yourself.

Over the years, that early love for finding and styling unique pieces deepened into a pull toward pieces with history, things that had already lived a life before they reached me. It's part of what shaped this collection.

Every piece connects to someone, and that sense of connection is part of what Lillian & Joan stands for. Community and care are at the center of it, which is why 5% of all Prags proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen, an organization doing essential work feeding communities in crisis.

One more thing: Lillian & Joan is a seasonal shop. It's mostly me behind the scenes, designing, making, styling, and packing most of it myself, so I open the doors in seasons to give every collection and every order my full attention. Between seasons, I'm working on what comes next. Join the list and you'll be the first to know when we open.

Thank you for still checking in, still asking when I'd be back, during the quiet times. I can't wait to share all that's next.

With love and joy,
Krystle
